Referral Triage Infographic January 2025

Hospitals across the UK turn to our flexible NHS consultant-led Referral Triage and Validation service, which reduces waiting lists by 30-50% through detailed patient management plans.

You’ll no doubt have questions on how it all works:

Who reviews the referrals?

The service brings in NHS consultants who work remotely as ‘virtual locums’, following local pathways and protocols, under the leadership of the local clinical leads.

How do you achieve the waiting list reduction?

Where clinically appropriate, the consultant writes up management plans for patients who can be returned to primary care for onward care. On average, 30-50% of patients come off the waiting list.
Re-referral rates tend to be minimal; for example, a recent analysis on neurology activity saw less than 5% of patients being re-referred after 6 months.

What specialties do you cover?

All major elective specialties, with high volumes in cardiology, dermatology, ENT, gynaecology and neurology.

What is the lead time?

As a remote service, mobilisation is extremely fast: Projects can launch in under a week with no disruption to local flows.
